AI phone answering for bars and breweries

An AI receptionist for a bar answers the phone when everyone is behind the taps. It gives hours, kitchen times and policies, takes event inquiries, and passes anything tricky to a manager as a message. It does not need a break and it does not rush callers.

What bar calls actually are

Most calls are small. Are you open, is the kitchen still going, do you take reservations, can we bring a dog, did someone leave a jacket. Each one pulls a bartender away from a guest.

The calls that matter most, a group of twenty or a buyout, often go to voicemail on a busy night.

How the setup works

The assistant answers using what you give it: hours, menu notes, event options, policies. For a big group it asks for the date, headcount and contact details and sends you a text or email.

Where it does not know, it says so and takes a message. It does not invent a price or promise a date.

Things to decide first

Choose what it may confirm and what it must pass to a person, such as a deposit or a buyout. Tell callers it is an automated assistant. Rules on age and service stay with your staff at the door.

Picture this

Examples of what it can look like in a bar or brewery. Illustrations, not clients.

It is 9 pm on a Friday and the bar is three deep. A caller asks if the kitchen is open. The assistant says until when, and the bartender never looks away from the taps.

A woman calls about a retirement party. The assistant takes the date, headcount and her number, and you see it before you open the next morning.

A man asks about a black jacket from last night. A message goes to the manager with his description and contact.

Questions

Will it sound like a robot?

It is clear that it is an assistant. The goal is a quick, correct answer, not pretending to be a person.

Can it take reservations?

It can take a request and pass it on, or add it where you keep bookings, depending on what you use today.

What if it gets something wrong?

You review the calls and fix its notes. It only repeats what you have told it.
