AI for bars and breweries: what to automate first
Start with the places a bar loses guests and money without noticing: private event inquiries that sit unanswered, calls missed during a rush, and a Google listing with the wrong hours. AI can answer, sort and follow up on those while your team pours. Westward builds these for bars and breweries, and a person approves anything that goes out.

Pick what you want AI to take off your plate
Fix the leaks before chasing new guests
Most bars already have people interested. A group asks about a buyout on Instagram, someone calls on a Friday to ask if you have a patio, a brewery gets an email about a tap takeover. If nobody answers fast, they ask the next place.
AI is good at the first reply and the sorting. It can answer the common questions, collect the date, headcount and budget, and hand the real conversation to you.
Then make the basics true everywhere
Hours, happy hour times, kitchen cutoff, dog policy and what is on tap change often. Guests check Google and an AI assistant before they walk over. When those answers are stale, you lose the walk-in.
A simple system can keep one source of truth and update your site and listings from it, with you approving each change.
Keep the human parts human
Your bartenders, your taproom feel and your regulars are the product. Use AI for the typing, the chasing and the paperwork, not for the welcome at the door.
Picture this
Examples of what it can look like in a bar or brewery. Illustrations, not clients.
A guest asks on a Tuesday night whether you can host thirty people on Saturday. The system replies right away, asks for the budget and food needs, and puts the lead on your list.
Your seasonal release goes on tap Thursday. The new beer description, your site and your listing all get updated from one note you type once.
A regular who has not been in for a while gets a short, friendly note about the new patio, written for you to approve.

Questions
Do I need to change my point of sale?
No. Most of this sits on top of what you already use: your phone, email, site and social accounts.
Will AI talk to my guests without me knowing?
Only on things you set, like hours and event questions. Anything that goes out as a message to a guest is approved by a person first, unless you choose otherwise.
What should I do first?
Count how many event or buyout inquiries you answered late last month. That is usually the clearest place to start.
